This duet bears the first names of its performers, Aristide Desfrères and Bastien Roux, because the theme of “two” already central to Aïcha M’Barek and Hafiz Dhaou’s works Toi & moi and D’eux—finds a new resolution here. With these hip-hop dancers, their choreography, featuring spiraling arms and an obsessive trance-like quality, clashes with the energy generated by the encounter between two subtle, poetic personalities and their powerful relationship with gravity.
